been doing this for a month...

... and I have little to show for it. I have been exercising almost daily (between 5 - 6 times a week) and have been adding up the food I am eating. I haven't had pastries, white bread, ice cream or other junk food, aside from a couple of tortilla chips once or twice. I am hoping the scale is saying the same story, over and over again, because I have been exercising alot and perhaps I am building muscle.
Or it could be a thyroid-related issue; I need to be more careful when I take my medication, or maybe I need to adjust the meds. Or maybe I need to go back to South Beach, which helped me lose over 20 lbs. last year which I subsequently gained back over the last 6 months of infrequent exercise and not watching what was eating.
But that all changed a month ago, when I made a commitment to myself to exercise and eat right. But I am not seeing any changes, and it's getting frusterating. I don't want to cut down too much in my calories, but maybe because my metabolism is so slow, I need to just eat less than other people.
I think the answer lies in me drinking at least 8 cups of water, which I have not been getting (it's hard to drink in the winter) and the carbs, which although I am eating whole wheat bread, brown rice, etc., may be just too much for my body. I did really well on SB and I think it's time to go back to at least Phase II and eat only two servings of carbs a day, and then see how I do.
So that's my new commitment! 8 cups of water and two carbs a day! I'll see if I start to lose, and if I do, I will stay on that for a while and gradually increase the carbs as I get closer to maintenance.
