At Least I Worked Out

Sunday, January 13, 2008

Augh, it was painful today. I didn't work out yesterday so I knew I had to do it today. I popped in one of my new workout DVDs and knew 5 minutes in that I was in trouble. For one thing, my nose was constantly running much like it did on Friday while I was on the bike. I had this head thing over the holidays but it went away and last week it came back. Oddly enough, it only seems to really affect one nostril and one side. My left ear clogs up when I blow my nose. It is the most annoying thing especially when you are trying to motivate to work out.

So, I did the 41-minute DVD but I had to take a lot of breaks. A lot of times I just felt darned queasy and by the end I was a sweaty mess. I also worked out in cotton pants. Since I started cycling I switched to non-cotton workout gear even down to my socks. Now I can't stand cotton socks especially cotton workout socks. They just get so darned abrasive like you could use them to clean gunk off pots and pants. Plus, the non-cotton workout clothes don't show where you're sweating as easily. I just felt yucky.

I then hopped on the bike for 18.5 minutes at a pretty slow pace just to help the blood rush back to my head and finish reading up one of my magazines. I then stumbled to the shower. It wasn't pretty but at least I got an hour of working out in.

Way to go, Angel! Do be careful with that "head thing" and if it keeps up, have it checked out....we don't want you out of commission for a long time, ya know!! Hope you're feeling ok today! - Marianne

Good for you! I know exercising when you feel yuck (running noses, colds, etc) is never easy to do. Regardless of how many breaks you took- what matters is that you still finished it. You go!
