Preparation counts too!

Thursday, January 10, 2008

Soz, I haven't actually started dieting. I'm in "preparation" phase. Preparation phase means, I'm using up all the problem foods currently lurking in my frig/freezer/pantry. Why use them up? Because I paid good money for them, dammit! Also, I am restricting certain foods now. Primarily, I'm no longer consuming foods that are packed with sugar. No more candy, cookies, cake, pies.. stuff I'm not s'posed to eat anyway, cause I'm diabetic, but eat it anyway :p I figure that by the time I start THE DIET I won't be struggling with cravings for sweet stuff. *pat on the back* Also, my grocery shopping list has is changing as I choose healthier alternatives ... why?? Because I'm PREPARING! As further evidence of my preparatory persistence, I searched (thank you, google) and found this website. So far, I love it. :) My daughter and I had been discussing weight loss strategies, and she has also made this website part of her own dietary plan. You go, girl!! Last part of preparation? I weighed, silly. Not a small thing by any means, lemme tell ya! It was hard to step on those scales. 218 and 5' 5" of fat and flab!
These are the things I haven't started yet. ...exercise
Like every fatty on earth, I dread exercise, yet I know from past experience that once I start (again) I will actually enjoy it, and will benefit spiritually as well as physically. I think regular exercise helps me connect with life.
And, of course, I haven't actually started dieting, but! I did fill out my first weekly food plan on this site!! Go me!!
Stay tuned as preparation turns into PROGRESS!
