Introduction and Disclaimers

First of all, as I began this journey on SP less than a week ago I am recovering from knee and foot surgery and I am still on crutches. Exercising is limited, although not entirely impossible. I have been laid up since 12/21/07 and have lost a lot of muscle tone due to lack of activity. I mention this because when I entered my starting weight (275) I used the weight from my last pre-surgery, midday weigh in at the doctor's office, minus 5lbs., and I'm not sure how accurate it was, because when I weighed myself at home today after using the bathroom and before breakfast without shoes it was 271.5. I doubt I have lost 3.5lbs in just a few days without benefit of vigorous exercise. I just wanted to make that clear...

    That you are weiging is great! I weigh myself at one place and in my swimsuit, log it and use that as a guideline to exercise more and eat better and more consistently.

    That I am continuing to focus on a healthy lifestyle is good.

    Hey, don't worry about it. When i put in my initial weight, I guessed it at 170 because i was too scared to get on the scale. I must have been pretty accurate though (unfortunately) because by the second day when i finally was brave enough to weigh in i was 169, so i figured i'd give myself a false pat on the back just to make me feel good enough to keep trying... remember, even if all you can do is flap your arms, you burning calories!!!
