Trying Not to Get Discouraged

Sunday, January 06, 2008

2008 hasn't really started out the way I had hoped. Last Wed I got knocked down swiftly and totally by a "cold" virus. I've been left with absolutely no energy, a stuffed up head, and a desire to eat a lot of carbs. I missed two days of work last week, just at a time when I need to plunge in after the holidays. And today I was supposed to go to Chicago to my daughter's to help her care for her 2 year old and new baby - that didn't happen! Can't bring them my germs.

But I know this isn't going to last forever - after all it is just a cold. I'll start by getting up early tomorrow, going to my Bible Study, and then heading to work and doing the best I can. If I need to I can come home early and rest. I'm going to bring a healthy brown bag lunch. I may not have the energy to exercise, but I'm going to do the best I can to get better.

Also, an exciting thing is happening tomorrow. The Bible Study team is starting up, and I thank God for that. I believe that leading this study is in God's will for me, and my "First Place" friends at church are very excited and are praying for us. So I'll take one day at a time, and give each one of them to God. He is strong in my weakness!
