Losing Weight Is Like Cleaning Out Your Closet

Sunday, December 30, 2007

New Beginnings: that's what starting another year means to me. For 2008, I want to lose weight and organize my life better in all aspects. Today I decided to unburden myself of clothes that are either out of style, worn-out, too small, or just in good shape but for some reason I don't wear. Yes, that suit was brand new but the skirt is still tight and it's five years later! It's out of style now! Sound familiar? Let's face it, losing weight is like cleaning out your closet. We hold onto bad eating habits, inactivity, pounds around our waist, and excuses for not trying to get rid of "extra baggage" just like we hold onto those size 10 jeans or that skimpy little red sweater. What I am finding is that I need to "let go" and not be so afraid for positive changes to start happening in my life. Lord knows, we all deserve good health and happiness. So I hope to get fit with the help of all of you friends out there who are battling the same battles that I am with weight. Here's a New Year's Toast: Let's keep it simple this year-steady does it! Let's all reach our goals with abundant energy and positive thinking! God Bless!

This sounds so familiar to me. I agree with you is like cleaning out your closet. It's so easy to find reasons (excuses) why not to do something. I also find it hard to let go, but with the help of sp, my husband, daughter and the good Lord, I am going to make an effort to move forward this year.
    We can do this.
