Holiday Goals

Whew...! Finally weighed in today after missing last week due to travels / vacation and I was SOOO relieved to find that I DID NOT GAIN! But I also did not LOSE so it's sort of a two week plateau...not a biggie, but I'm ready to move on. The pounds are going slower now, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing as I've lost @ 60 pounds in the last 11 months.

I don't want to disappoint myself with an unrealistic number so I think I'll pick 250 as my goal to achieve by 12/31. That's 17 more pounds in 7 weeks...2-3 pounds a week or so. 250 will feel like a great milestone to pass.

I have already been doing well to avoid high cal, high carb foods at events / gatherings and plan to continue these efforts.

One of my weak links of which I'm becoming more aware lately has been a de-stabilizing pattern of staying up too late on Fri. & Sat. surfing the 'net, doing email and the like. This results in a topsy-turvy pattern of oversleeping and not having time to hop on my treadmill in the morning as soon after awaking there are too many things that need to be done so I'm off and running and it isn't until much later in the day, if not late evening, before I get to my treadmill, dumb bells, resistance tubes and swiss ball. Everything is much more difficult for me to do at night.

So...my second area of work will revolve around getting a minimum of 8 hours of sleep each night as I also tend to nip at my sleep during the week often going to sleep at 11 or midnight and popping up at 6 or 6:30...and I really feel the difference...dragging my behind through the day, sluggish at night.

The third area of my work will be to restore my veggie intake and increase if possible. I definitely got off-track of veggies during my vacation. So I want to maintain a minimum of 3 veggies a day and strive for five.

Wordy today ain't I? So to boil it down:

1) 250 by 12/31
2) 8+ hours of sleep per night
3) 3-5 veggies per day

Off and running on this challenge!!

Way to go on your weight loss and goals. I think it helps to have the short term goals rather than the end goal as a target. That end target can seem over whelming.

I gained back almost everything I lost since joing SP but I'm not going to give up. I see others making progress and that kelps to keep me going in the right direction. My set backs are mainly due to hip and knee pain. This past week there has been progress made pain wise so I will get back to getting some pounds off again.

Found an eliptical on the internet close to home (used) and purchased that and have been using it for just over a week now. It seems to be so much easier on the joints than anything else I have tried.

Stick you your goals now and post how you are doing.
