Happy Halloween!

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

Our town did TOT on Sunday so I'm safe tonight....but to all you others that have a hard time with treats, HANG TOUGH and stay on goal! I'm not sure why but the candy didn't have the appeal this year as it usually does for me......which I'm very pleased about. Plus I'm focused on going out saturday and I am gonna have a free day of NO GUILT!

I went to get my nails done today and must say they are looking FABULOUS.....well at least for a couple weeks. lol

My son had a Halloween party today and schools are trying to take a healthier approach (which I think is wonderful and LONG overdue) so they ask not to bring in candies, cakes, soda. For his snacks to bring in he choose corn nuts and banana chips and he was very pleased to say his treats were a hit with the kids and teacher. He also said the party was great they had all types of fruits, chips and salsa, and apple juice. It is really cool to see my son so excited about healthier choices. My son is very responsive to better eating and daughter on the other hand we have our work ahead of us here. She is more like my husband, picky picky picky. Sometime I will post some tricks/tips on how to get a picky kid to eat healthier.....well what has been working for me.

Yup, can't tell you guys yet about my news......soon! hehehehe, I'm just trying not to jinx myself.

Happy Halloween everyone! Hug's

I love that your kids school asked for healthy snacks instead of the junk food and it all went over well. In the schools here now they have a lot of reduced fat things and healthier choices and they serve salads everyday. I try to trick my kids into healthy eating also.

Yay @ you treating yourself to a manicure! You deserve it.

Waiting patiently to read your news. :-)

i agree healthy food in the schools is long overdue. This year our school system added a new choice to the lunch menu, chef salad, and it is available everyday. Not that i would want to eat chef salads everyday but it is a good option on the not so healthy days. i would love to hear some tips for getting picky kids ( .... or husbands) to eat healthy. WTG rewarding yourself to getting your nails done and a guilt free day.

Wow - it's great to see the healthier food choices infiltrating the school systems. Your son had a right to feel proud that his healthy snacks were a hit.
