Buying treats.........

Friday, October 26, 2007

It's that time of the year when you need to pick up the treats for the kids going trick or treating. I love Halloween but I dread all the junk food.......I'm one of those people who could eat through a bag of something with ease. So my plan of attack is (Sunday is trick or treating in my town) to go shopping tomorrow and buy healthy alternatives individual sized bags of pretzels or popcorn or something like that. NO CHOCOLATE cause from past years there is lots of left overs and MOM (ME) ends up eating it all! My other plan of attack is I'll have hubby go through the childrens bags to make sure everything is sealed (no big deal because they only go to peoples houses they know) my kids don't get huge amounts of candy......but I don't want to risk taking some. Geeesh, that is horrible that I know I can't be trusted to be in a room with candy. Actually that is sad.......but it is the truth right now so that is why I'm making plans to avoid temptations.

Got some exercise done today 30 mins. cardio and 15 mins. resistance bands and of course my daily crunches been trying to do 100 a day. hehehehe, I'm building some muscle under this fat.

OMG.. I can't keep candy in my house! I have no restraint either! Take one piece.. and oh just ONE more.. before ya know it the bag is almost gone! I haven't done trick or treat candy in years.. not that I'm a scrooge.. but with a dog & 3 cats in the house at that time.. everytime I'd open the door I'd be holding them back trying to keep them in!! It got to be too much!! These days I am usually working during trick or treat time.. so its very easy to avoid & I don't have to buy the candy! Healthier treats are a great idea too.. kids don't NEED all that candy!!

100 crunches a day?? Oh my god! I'm only up to about 20 or so - and I can feel it! Guess I might get there sometime! I hope! Way to go!

And thanks once again for your support when I needed it most!!

Your plans sound great. Making plans is the first step (I am great at that part), now I hope you have more restraint that I do with following through with your plan ( I stink at restraint). I don't think it is sad, that you are making plans how to deal with your temptations - I have the same problems! Acknowledging your downfalls is by no means sad, but honest and a HUGE step in the right direction.

    Yay for muscle building!

Oh how I can so relate. In the past I could easily go through a bag of snack size candy bars before Halloween. WTG to you @ having a plan of attack this year and trying to get healthier snack instead.

Any candy left in this house will go to work with my husband.

WooHoo and WTG @ the excercise especially the sit ups!!!

100 crunches a day......glad I am not the only one doing that!!! Hoping my case will eventually turn ino a 6 pack........I would be happy with a 12 pack!!! Ok Chrissy just remember why do 100 a day and then blow it with excess candy??? I was in the store the other day and I found Lindt 85% chocolate candy....it is supposed to be an antitoxin and good for your heart.....only 50 calories for 1 square.....you may want to try it ....it is so strong you can't eat more than one piece and it satisfies the chocolate craving!!
