Well, I felt so much better with my cold this morning that I decided to get in some exercise.
I started with some warm up step-ups and then decided to do some intervals so I did 50 step ups, then marched in place while my rate came down, then 50 more etc until I'd done it for 10 minutes.
Then I did 40 minutes on the elliptical in somewhat of the same pattern but this time varying the resistence 7-10 then 4 then back up etc. I totally cheated and read my book and the 30 minute program was over for 10 minutes before I realized that it wasn't changing the program anymore.
Anyway, 427 calories burned!
