Feeling great, but sick!

Saturday, October 06, 2007

Sounds strange, right? Well, I'm feeling great because I lost 4 pounds this week. Thanks to all my amazing spark friends and all the support they gave me during the "poor me's" I was able to get back in the game and lose, lose, lose. Unfortunately I am sick. I'm pretty sure Carrie gave it to me, I'll get her back don't worry!

I was thinking about what might of happened to me when I went on a binge at the fair. I have suffered from SAD (seasonal affective disorder) for years. Even though I take medication, it still sometimes really bothers me. Now that I think back, I definitely had some signs that I was getting depressed. Unfortunately when you are in the middle of feeling like that, you can't see your way out of a wet paper bag! I need to get my light box down from the attic and have it at the ready. It's funny, its something I never talk about but here I feel like I can share anything. If you don't know anyone who has it, or don't have it yourself, it can sound pretty weird and made up. Trust me friends, as soon as the days get shorter and we lose light I can FEEL it. Of course one of the symptoms is craving carbs which doesn't help. It doesn't matter because I am feeling so so so much better.

Thanks for all your love and support and for not letting me disappear!

I'm afraid I've never heard of SAD, but I can relate to being bummed that it doesn't stay light as long anymore. Your rebound is nothing short of fantabulious. You are a strong kitty and this Red Naughty Knight, is glad your on his side. Bless you Darlin, your smile will brighten the world around you (I know it brightens mine). (((((Smooch))))) on the forehead.

I know about SAD...I've read a lot about it trying to figure myself out...and it's nothing short of a beyotch from beyond. You've got it beat down with the Spark stick now though!! It really makes me so happy to know that you are getting your Patty groove on with gusto now...and it's full speed ahead...as soon as we get you de-germinated and feeling better! As for the marathon...ya'll better start praying for me NOW...and I mean on the red emergency prayer hotline...that may call for a miracle!!! = O Leaving you lots of love, hugs, and virtual chicken soup...low sodium of course ; D

Ohhh goood! I'm glad to hear you are pulling out of it! And so quickly! I'm glad you didn't go on a 6-monther like me. Congratulations on the 4 pounds! That is so exciting. I wish you the best and I hope you keep your chin up. Have a great weekend. Jen

FOUR POUNDS? Holy moley, woman! I don't think I lost anything! But, b/c I've been sick, I haven't exercised and haven't eaten well. Not poorly, not over, just not well. Higher in sodium stuff b/c it's easier to prepare. I'd hate to hear how you're going to get me back. I don't know much about SAD, but since you have it, I'm sure I will. :o) Love ya, babe. Have some soup. Ooh! I'm making some tomorrow. Maybe I'll share. Maybe I won't. :o)
