End of Vacation
Monday, September 24, 2007
Bob's vacation is officially over, and despite my apprehension, it went very well. I can't believe the week went by so quickly - he goes back to work tomorrow, and I'm really gonna miss him!
We had a really relaxing week together: shaky at first, still struggling with all the upheavals the past few months, but then we regained our emotional footing. I needed him to back off and not pressure me about unpacking; he was able to do that at last, and relax himself as well.
Plus he was a huge help food-wise, shopping and cooking and preparing healthy meals and snacks, for both of us or just for me if he wanted something else. No "let's get fast food or go out" either, like usual when he's off work. That was a huge relief too!
So now it's the last week of September... and I will make the most of the time we have left in the month!
I'll be 51 in 22 hours - kinda anti-climatic after my party last year when I turned "the big 5-0" - but it feels like a positive "next step of my life."
My mom died when she was 50, just before her 51st birthday, so turning 50 was a VERY emotional time for me. This year I just feel exhilarated and hopeful and HAPPY! No small part, I'm sure, because of the peace we are finally reestablishing in our lives.
Take care and best wishes to all, Elizabeth
