Exercising AGAIN- YAY ME!!!!

Wow, I didn't realize how long it had been since I did a blog. Well....I'm so happy to report that I am back on schedule with my exercise. No weight loss this week but I don't even care. That is hard to believe but it is true. I know that I had a great week and the scale will catch up to me. I started the Couch 2 5K program that Carrie told me about a while ago. I had been walking 5 1/2 miles at a time so I figured week one would be a piece of cake- HAH!!! Week one is brisk 5 minute walk then alternate 60 seconds running, 90 seconds walking for 20 minutes. I wasn't sure if the 5 minute walk counted so I did 30 minutes so that I had a walk at the beginning and end. It was only a couple of miles but it kicked my butt more than my long walks! I can't believe how much running ups the old heart rate. I am totally motivated again. It is a new challenge for me. I get so excited to get out there and see if I can make it through all the runs. I did great this week. I even did the program yesterday in 85 degree heat. I only missed one of the 60 second runs because I was so hot but that is okay. I don't know that I'll move on to the next week this week, I don't think I will be ready. I don't care though. It says not to move on until you are comfortable so we'll see.

Even though I gave Carrie a hard time about the new streak challenge I know she is right. I need to stop eating the yogurt and hot fudge. I am totally addicted to it. I save the calories every night so I can have it but that is far from the healthy eating I was doing before! It hardly makes sense for me to renew my exercising and still be eating crap at night. Summer is over and it is time to get back on track!!!!!

    What's that? CARRIE'S RIGHT?? Huh. Never would've thought... :o) It's creepy to see my name show up several times in a blog. But I'm so happy to see you're finding your groove. AND you're right about it being a 30 minute workout. You walk 5 minutes, do the 20 minutes worth of splits, then walk another 5 minutes (or more) to cool down. I would normally walk 20 minutes after the 60/90 walk/run part, so the total workout was 45 minutes. You can do this, I know you can! And the yogurt...just think about what other things you could eat for that amount that would fill you up and keep you satisfied longer than the yogurt and hot fudge. mmmm...hot fudge ::drools:: :o) Definitely take your time with the program. It's 9 weeks, it took 4 months! Love ya, babe!
