Jump Start

Saturday, August 18, 2007

Well, I think it's time for a little Jump Start. I mean, I have lost over one hundred pounds since last September...this year's September is slowly creeping up on me and I still have not reached my goal weight. When I was still around 200+ pounds me and my doctor decided on a good goal weight for me. It was 145lbs. I'm about twenty pounds away from that...I thought it would be easy to get there but the closer I get to it the harder it is to lose the freakin' weight! I know what my problem is though, I've become to comfortable with myself...thinking that I'm good at my current weight and I'm not. I'm still very overweight! In the past couple of weeks I've become carb crazy...Starbucks is not letting me succeed. I need to stop going there EVERY day. Yes, their light based frappuccinos have less calories(within the 100-200 range) BUT the carbs are still ridiculously high(within the 40-50g range). I believe that once I drop this very bad habit, my weight loss will jump start and I will reach least I hope so.

It is always those last 10-20 pounds that are the hardest to shed. I do and then again I don't look forward to when I am that close to my goal. Something I learned from a family member who was doing weight watchers is that some times you just got to switch it up a bit. If you walk try biking, or add a little jogging with your walking. If you're stuck doing the same strength training, try doing some different ones that target basically the same area. Same goes for food maybe you eat three meals a day, well maybe try switching it to five small meals and vice versa. Anyway, I am no expert but hope that helps!

It sounds like you are doing great so far. Keep up the awesome work and don't be too hard on yourself! Good job!
