My Leap of Faith...

August 13, 2007 - Healthy Reflection:

What leaps of faith are you willing to take?

Trying new things can give you a real zest for life. Pushing beyond your comfort zone in a responsible way helps you grow confidence and creativity that you can apply to your everyday life. Do not let fear control what you do (or don't) do? While taking risks can be scary, doing nothing is a big mistake, as it produces nothing fruitful within you. There is a direct relationship between the things that we achieve and the effort we put forth to obtain them. To reach the fruit, you have to climb the tree first!

Not long after I got my treadmill I had the urge to run and instead of thinking "You can't do it" I thought "what's it going to hurt to try"... it was sort of like looking around to find the voice that said that... but I tried it.

I was able to get myself up to running for 5 minutes before I stopped using my treadmill consistently. At one point I thought -see told you so... you can't be a runner - not going to happen. Since I've had my "spark re-lit" I've been on the treadmill almost everyday and building my time and level of intensity. On Saturday I caught myself - I did it again... but this time there wasn't the thought - I just had the faith that I could do it again... so I did... mind you it was only for 1 minute but it's a start!

Maybe I'll become a runner yet!
