Wondering what to post to the team site today with the hope of eliciting some responses, Trying to keep it active and give team members some ideas as to how to incorportate various non machine non gym non tv basedworkouts into their routines in order to provide any time any where workouts. Thinking about creating a fitness program for seniors to have included in the local community education for the fall. Looking for people who want a personal trainer to assist them with their programmes

    Hello Seargant Major,
    I saw that you are going to start a fitness class for seniors, and I wanted to encourage you to do this. I wanted to tell you there are those of us who have not been moving much, so we have to start slower so we do not get hurt and have a set back when working toward our goals. I have arthritis and now MS, and family responsibilities, as well as not having much money, so I have to think hard about what to do and when to do it, (how often, how long) This is frustrating. I think I just have to start with stretches. I hurt a hamstring badly a few years back and I reinjured it again recently. My knees are real delicate. I have an ankle that stopped me too. It all turns into starts and stops when I just try to walk more, gets complicated. I guess I need a plan A. B, D, E, F, G etc so I just don't get discouraged and do no exercises. Well, right now I am getting used to a new medicine for MS, and having an episode. I am dizzy. So when it passes, I will start again. It is okay, because I am beginning to get into the diet think.....it takes time for me to transition into how big portions are. If I loose weight I want to try to get a job again in nursing, maybe counseling and teaching health, who knows, maybe I will be fit enough to do active nursing again. My brother on the west coast has really inspired me. He cured himself of high blood pressure, and a liver tumor. He runs five to six miles a day twice a day and he eats ninety eight percent raw food. He takes a lot of supplements and fasts. He has hepatitis C from a blood transfusion in the eighties, and he now is healthy enought that he qualified for an experimental treatment trial of medicine. The doctor told him he had the body of a thirty-five year old, and he is sixty years old now. Only thing is his knees are wearing out. He is lucky, he grows his own food in several gardens.
