Planning Vacation

Sunday, June 13, 2021

Trying to schedule enough days with each family and a friend that all want me for the whole time I'm on vacation is finally settled. I'll leave here on the 19th go to my sons in Renton and on the 25th my friend and her husband will come get me and take me to their cabin down near Long Beach and then back to Seattle again on July 1. My daughter should be home from her family vacation on the 29th or 30th. The 30 is my oldest grand child's 17th birthday.

Each of the grand kids have asked for a day alone with gramma JO. One wants to go shopping, one to several bookstores, one to some computer stores and the other one to show me where she works. I'm not really interested in a baseball game but I'll go for Josie.

It was a good day at home. I got several questions answered by making phone calls and worked on a deep clean of the bathroom. This included more things put into the boxes of stuff for a charity store and extra garbage along with more laundry. I still have 5 more days to do things but 3 of them will require running around too..

Thank fulls
1. I'm so excited
2. getting in my car and just driving is one of my favorite things to do
3. trying hard to not start packing

The big plan for tomorrow is to get rid of the Direct tv boxes and stuff. I will also need a quick stop at a store for bread and hot dogs. Silly right. Then there will be phone calls for getting my oil changed and finding out when I can get my ID card (military) updated. My cleaning plan is to finish scrubbing the bathroom floor and vacuum the computer room. Really not fun.

I know the fun and excitement getting ready for a vacation. We do start getting things together fairly early and it helps relieve the hurry and scurry.
It will be a very fun time with the grands going out with one at a time. Take time to enjoy each and ever day.

You are going to have so much fun! I know what you mean about the baseball game - we do a LOT of things for our kids/grandkids that we wouldn't ordinarily do. I went on a Haunted Lantern tour at Cave of the Winds this weekend (can you tell a 10-yr-old picked out the activity?). While it isn't what I would have chosen to do, it meant so much to my grandson that his grandma could share the experience with him. You'll build some fun memories as they share what is important to THEM!

Now you will be making all the grand children happy by spending time individually with all five of them. The good part is no repeats, that's a good thing. Your a good grandma going to a baseball game.
You could start putting clothes out a on spare bed that you want to take along when you go. This gives you an idea of what you have enough of or not enough of.
So nice to get things cleared out and bring them where you want then to go, and get rid of boxes, nice to come home to a nice cleared up home.
I did get the towel set finished this evening after dinner and clean up. So now want to work on a few more summer napkins for us to use . I found the cutest yard of fabric at Jo Ann's fabric last Thursday, just right for the kitchen, and napkins came to mind right away. It reminds me of retro material of days gone by. It has different shape squares ans bigger boxes with all kind of berries on it. Along with some baskets with berries in them. Also cherries on it with sayings too, just right for the kitchen area. Just looked at the piece again, think I could get 2 place mats and 4 napkins, just may need to get some backing for them. I was going to use fat quarters in different shades of red for the napkins, but will look to see what I can find if I go the whole set idea.
