Interesting start to the day

Friday, June 11, 2021

This morning we had a rather quick thunder storm move thru. It was windy and I didn't hear much of it while I was in the house. The second I stepped out the door to go get my hair done I caught lightening out of the corner or my eye and then came the house rattling BOOM. It was the only thunder I heard and it was right on top of me. Buck tried to climb my leg because I take him with. Have spent part of the rest of the day telling myself God was not talking to me alone but to the world around us. Reminding us to listen.

It was a much cooler day also. My hairdresser told me the gal whose graduation I'm going to tomorrow is a Star Wars fan...easy she now has a Star Wars bag. Since when I travel next week I plan on taking a sewing machine with me I've decided to put some zippers in bags that are already cut and finish them up in the evening in motel rooms.

Even made myself real food for dinner. Now I'll have a couple of meals of goulash for a couple of days.

Thank fulls
1. the lightening did not hit me as I was standing on the porch holding my metal railing when I saw it
2. got a really good laugh this afternoon. When I did craft shows I could put up my own metal booth in just a few minutes. this afternoon one of the neighbors was getting ready for another graduation across the street and was standing there with metal booth parts all laid out on his driveway scratching his head. Next time I looked he had several people from the church over helping him. They must be expecting a big crowd since they set up 5 canopies with table and chairs. But it took them an hour.
3. life in a small town

Guess it's time to start giving my house a real good cleaning because I like to leave a clean house to come home too. It will take me several days I'm sure. I fiddle with some sewing and stuff during sitting times but sure would like to have it all done by Thurs. I also have several things that will require some running around this week. Yuck,

I grew up in a small town, yup, not much goes on that much of the town doesn't know about it.

yes i too want to leave my home clean to come home too, but we still will have some dust blow through when it is real dry out, and the wind is blowing, thank goodness that isn't a problem at the present time.
You must be leaving toward the end of next week, driving to Seattle. Will Buck be going with, or staying home with the cars? Suppose the same lady will be checking in on the animals for water and food. We went to
Allen today, oh am I tired, my feet are tired, just don't want to go to sleep this early. I bought some fat quarters to add to the blankets I want to make for babies. The other fat quarters are animals for both a boy and girl blankets.. So I found blue with bigger animal heads for the boy one, and white background with tiny cats in outline only in several colors including pink---thought those would add the the blankets Need backing for them but want too see what I have here first, before buying anymore. I did get a lovely piece of material with several shades if teal in it. I don't think it's knit, but stretchy and smooth almost shiny a feel on the top. Got 2 stretch cotton T-shirts. Plan to cut just somewhat under the bust line off on the tees and make skirts to sew onto each that way, no pattern needed. keeping my fingers crossed this will work. When we were done shopping as we needed to go to Costco too, so walked around they, bought 2 pair of shorts cotton knit I believe, hope they fit. So after that, it was dinner, so went out to eat, then headed home---ended up a busy day. We even stopped at a bath and body store, bought more than we needed, but heck we do need a splurge on ourselves once in awhile--suprised even Jim found something he wanted to try.

We didn't get a drop of rain nor any thunder either. We are certainly in a dry hole. We were told it was the angels out bowling, getting strikes all the time. Or God was working at getting our attention.
    Enjoy your weekend.

I remember hose thunderstorms where all you saw a lightening and immediate thunder as it was lightening. After I moved to Western Washington and would visit my parents in Minnesota during the summer, my dad would always tell me not to sit under the wall telephone during a thunderstorm. The telephone line was hit by lightening many many times while I was growing up. We very seldom have thunderstorms in western Washington so I enjoy a good one now.

We always told our boys that lightening was God having a disagreement with the angels over something.
