What a day...
Mike was up at 4:30 and I got up not too long afterwards. I couldn't get back to sleep and knew that we needed to be out the door by 8:30 anyway. I had my Energize, read my Bible and devotional and did my workout. I took my shower and had my breakfast. I got the boys up and did get the bed made and the dishes washed before we left.
We got to Des Moines for Matthew's appointment and he went in by himself (well, I went in with him to use the restroom and then waiting outside with Jacob.
After that things went weird. My initial plan was Target, lunch at Subway and then the Verizon store. Well, we all decided that we were hungry so we headed to the Subway that we usually go to - they were closed. I did some searching and it didn't seem like any of them were open for dine-in. Ugh. So we decided Chick-fil-a - no dine-in. Double ugh. I should have just gone ahead and gone to Target...
We ended up eating at McDonalds. Here is where things got interesting. We were leaving McDonalds and I was debating washing the car since the car wash was just across the street, but decided not to. So I'm sitting at the stoplight waiting to turn left. The light changed and there was still a straight truck sitting halfway in the intersection (he was turning left onto the road we were on), so I hesitated. I had moved forward a little bit and apparently the person behind me wasn't paying too close of attention and proceeded to rear-end us. Oh joy. I should have washed the car. Lol.
The picture doesn't do justice, but thankfully the car is okay for the most part. Who knows where we'll get it fixed or when. The thing is that I have to go back to Des Moines tomorrow!
After talking with the driver of the other vehicle and exchanging info we drove carefully to Target. The trunk will now not latch. We did our Target shopping and thankfully found bungee cords to keep the trunk closed. Our last stop was the Verizon store which took longer than I thought it would. We did get a great deal though and our plan won't be much too much more now having 4 lines - plus his phone is free!
Once home, it's just been some relaxing. I've had to do a few loads of laundry - Matthew was out of jeans and he works tomorrow night and I'll be gone part of the day - but that's it. I did finish "The Big Bad Wolf" and am ready to start "London Bridges".
1. Nutrition: it didn't go as planned, but I wasn't horrible
2. Fitness: Day 74 - Lift & Shift: Mobility Moves Wind Down
3. Personal: Read my Bible and devotional; finished my book; phone time was good
Tomorrow - annual doctor appointment in Ankeny/Des Moines and maybe a little shopping. I need to figure out where to have lunch.
