I know this is Sunday but picture it.... Thursday, May 13th, the year 2021, an old woman emerges from her boudoir to participate in a normal, beautiful, pastoral day. The sun is streaming through the dog nose printed windows, the crumbs on the counters from kids midnight snacks are distracting but she's on a mission to get her morning espresso made. Fresh beans ground, the rituals bring joy to the old woman. Alas, a burning smell and the machine gives up it's last foul bit of brown lifeblood. The woman, heart broken, makes strong tea with hopes this will divert the ravaging effects of caffeine withdrawal. Cup after cup of tea brings no relief. The old woman dashes to her computer to order a replacement machine, grabbing car keys flies out the door, in pursuit of dark brew. The ensuing headache and irritability must be fed! Trader Joe's and a bottle of cold brew coffee bring relief to the bitter attitude and raging headache. May 15th, the old lady sees the Amazon prime truck in the street, prayers immediately emitting from her lips.....and YES, the driver bounds up to her door with the adorable machine. That old lady is me, I immediately made dark brew and another for my son. It was rich and smooth, so satisfying.

I am not going to lie, Thursday was fraught with a whole lot of frustration and bad attitude here. I yelled at my son, I ate inappropriately and generally had a MAJOR MELTDOWN. Today I am back in the saddle riding toward, happiness and the pleasant day of health.

I absolutely love this meme.

My caffeine addiction is Diet Coke. Never really got on the coffee bandwagon.

Our habits of coffee or tea in the morning feel important.

I love my morning coffee too but I don't think I'd have quite the same reaction. However, when visiting my mom's a few months ago, I broke the carafe on her coffeemaker and since it was easier to get a replacement machine rather than try to get a new carafe from the local hardware store (the only place in town for such purchases) I made sure that a new machine was ordered and I picked it up later that day. Mom would have been completely content with her instant coffee - all she ever makes when I'm not there - but I knew I'd want my coffee the next day! emoticon
BTW - I HAD had my coffee - carafe broke when if fell off the counter after being washed. emoticon

Non-coffee drinker here with a spouse that would go ballistic if his beloved coffee maker went on the fritz. Fun read.

That looks like a very good coffee maker. I can totally relate to having your coffee maker break down. I drink a lot of coffee (way too much) and when mine broke a few months back I was all out of sorts until my replacement arrived.
Sit back, sip, and enjoy the day. Hopefully, it's nice enough to take a cup or two outside. emoticon

Coffee machine rank right up there with dishwashers for breaking down and being kicked to the curb. Just in from a walk and I saw four on lawns waiting for scavengers to pick up. I will stick to my old French press to get my fix!
