Day 128: Lots to Do

"Leave the door open for the unknown, the door into the dark. That's where the most important things come from, where you yourself came from and where you will go." (Rebecca Solnit)
Hello, my lovely friends!
Yesterday was a long day because we had to go out and do some things. My mom still needs a few more things, but she is so excited. It really is nice to see her excited about something again. My mom is so cute, she wants to make sure I’m safe all by myself (it’s a mom thing). She decided to hire the lawn care service again because she doesn’t want me outside in the front doing the yard work. They’re actually starting this coming Thursday and will turn the sprinkles on and cut down that dead tree.
I took a look at the calendar and my mom is going to be gone for almost five weeks. Imagine everything I can get done here. I know I can do a lot and will probably do it all within the next two weeks. I also have a few recipes I want to test out. I also want to try out the pasta making I bought. My sister has issued since her surgery to remove her gall bladder and really has changed how she eats. I want to make a few gluten-free recipes before she gets here. Any suggestions? I’m going to look online, but welcome any ideas on it.
I grabbed some steaks for Mother’s Day for the two of us. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to cook them inside on the grill pan because it’s going to be raining Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Speaking of Mother’s Day we’re going to get Scooter groomed, yay! The two of us will also get a haircut because who will be out getting haircuts on Mother’s Day? It might be a weird way to spend Mother’s Day, but that’s how things are for us now. My mom loved getting together for the holidays, but now it’s hard. It has nothing to do with Covid. Through the years after my dad passed, she’s just not into it and everyone turns her down that she gave up. I try to make the holidays special for her no matter what.
I have some weeds to pull tomorrow, but then we have rain on the calendar for the next three days. We do need the rain though. Happy Mother’s Day to all you mother’s out there.
Spread a little kindness always! Lots of hugs and loves to you all!
