But I'm Still Hungry
Monday, April 12, 2021
I have always felt more comfortable with something in my mouth. Started smoking at 16 and sucked on cough drops after I quit. Gum worked to satisfy until my teeth were replaced with crowns and the gum stuck to my teeth. Snacks have been filling the void for years.
I started the NOOM program in January, 2021 and learned about mouth hunger. My mouth wanted to be full even when I wasn't "hungry". So my quick fix is to keep squares of dark chocolate in the door of the fridge. Once I realize that I am not in need of food for nourishment, I pop a square of cold dark chocolate into my mouth and crunch on it until it is gone. It is just enough to satisfy my mouth and get me to go do something else besides eat a snack.
