Wednesday Weigh-In

Wednesday, April 07, 2021

Well, at least it's in the 140's today.
A bit surprising, given recent eating. Attempting to keep off the pounds lost after my second vaccine dose didn't work - fast weight loss never seems to stick.
But you're a sparkpeople person, you know that.

Six minutes until I leave for work.
Busy times - spring always is!
And ... with being officially 'fully vaccinated' on Friday at 5:15 ... oh, the joy of planning!
A pedicure?!?
Eyebrow dye and professional grooming?!?
The postponed annual physical ...
The eye exam can wait until after we're out of masks and my eyes re-adjust to wearing my glasses normally.
The hair appointment will also wait until after we're out of masks; I need my bun or high ponytail to anchor the mask straps above my electronic ears. And I am liking not having to wash my hair so frequently. And I am liking not coloring my hair, even if it's less flattering and "ages" me. Guess what? Women age!
I am so fortunate to have good health and energy.
How many things can you find to be grateful for today?
I challenge you to find at least 3!

I'm in a state of unconditional gratitude . . . and aware of it, and enjoying it. Now there's three!!

And as for the hair -- which does need cutting -- never got started on colouring it!!

    1. Having vaccine #2 under the belt. Will be 'fully marinated' on 16 April. Can't wait.

    2. Free Vit. D -- sunshin-y weather outside.

    3. Pesky as they are, the hearing aides - - makes the words spoken to me so much clearer!

    1. Knowing people who love me (and show me)
    2. Not worrying (too much) about finding my next job
    3. Having the time to help others

I’ve been cutting my own hair for ages now, but toes? I leave those to the professionals. A pedicure is DEFINITELY on my list. So is the eye exam for contacts emoticon

Yes, keeping it off is the tricky part. Go back to the strategy that worked in the first place. I’m grateful I have a simple life, with simple needs. Ponytail, takeout meals, less shopping - routine. So grateful for my health, family and SP.

I just can't wait to see my friends more often, maybe even go out for a drink once we're vaccinated!

I gave up on hair coloring, always a blonde, about 5 years ago...umm...except for when I went purple and pink!
It took some strategic cuts and ponytail wearing and I love my white/silver hair. I earned every last strand!
So, I'm grateful for natural hair.
Masks outdoors with spring blooms; who knew?

Three things? Only three? No, at LEAST 3.

    I'm breathing.
I've had both doses of vaccine and will be "fully vaccinated" next Monday.
I got a haircut. (I have NEVER been able to pull off a pony tail... don't have enough hair! I never got the knack of "doing a bun", either. I think if I would have joined the military, I would have had to shave my head! But that's OK... I'm blessed with a head!)

We're not in a drought. We aren't flooded. Things are greening up and flowers are starting to bloom.

The little boutique gym that is Tiger Coaching has survived the pandemic and available for me to go back to! I am grateful for every small business that is weathering the economic side of this storm!

We do indeed age and we're worth every line and grey hair!

The 140's are good. Even if you are 5' tall, that isn't so awful. I'm 5'3" and at 134# since I found a doctor who put me on Metformin and I stopped having cravings. My blood sugar was 115 and it is 84 now. I didn't want Type 2 diabetes. I was 214# when I joined Sparks in '07

    Lots to be grateful for
Surviving 1 year of the pandemic tops the list although I grieve for the 1/2 million families who suffered loss.
First visit with DD and SIL here at the lake this weekend - 2 weeks past our 2nd shot.
All grandchildren got their vaccine since only a minority of the population around here will accept it.
(kind of good news/bad news thing, I guess)

I've always dyed my own hair since I find it "Nice and Easy" but I may give up regular haircuts even if safe again. Grandma's ponytail holds my cap in place even in strong wind and a mask outdoors is helping my allergies. Who knew?
