Think the tape Thru

Monday, March 22, 2021

Do you ever just feel like disappearing off the face of the earth, I believe they call it going off the grid! I know exactly what the problem is, it's these pesky graveyard shift nights, they have a tendency to reek havoc on my outlook and attitude. At least I am able to recognize the problem, this gives me the ability to do something about it. Think I'm going to cut back on time spent on the computer, I have definitely givin' the phone a rest. I'm going to continue my spark journey, but may not post as much! As many of you know I love music of all kinds and can usually express the way I am feeling with a song or two. Today it was a dynamic duo, one of which left this world a little too soon, one of my favorites Keith Whitley! He had a beautiful wife Lori Morgan, a son and he adopted Lori's daughter from a previous marriage. He was so talented and had all a man could ever want, or so it seemed! No matter our talents, wealth, material objects or even our families, sometimes addiction just wins the war! So today is not a bad day, nor is it one of great significance, just a rainy Monday. I got to thinking about how we need to play the tape through, what I mean by this is what would happen if I were to take a drink, not saying that I want to drink, just the fact of how it would turn out. It would not be good, the same probably goes to those who might begin a binge on junk food, before you take that first bite play the tape thru! So a couple of songs from two of my favorite artist and I'm feelin' okay, "Except for Monday" which was never good anyway and "I'm no Stranger to the Rain" I've fought with the devil
Got down on his level
But I never gave in, so he gave up on me! I'm so grateful to wake each day and fight the good fight, feelin' just a little bit grateful today. Ya'll have a wonderful week!

I totally understand. I blog once a week, to keep it manageable. I thought I was capable of being off grid, but discovered I need human contact (virtual or otherwise) to stay sane. Moderation. Good luck!

Sometimes being off the grid is not even a conscious choice. I've watch a family member work at climbing back on for awhile now.

Great lyrics, definitely understand the need to step back from media, you know I've been doing that. As a manger of many graveyard shifts I loved not being bother by upper executives but I know the toll it takes. I worked 70 to 80 hrs so I feel you.

    George Morgan)

ahhhh, the trivia stuck in my head.

Yes, sometimes I'd like to go off grid and just hide out..........but I won't give up or give in either.

You are a strong man, and I really enjoy reading your blogs. Wisdom in there..
