A new Tuesday morning (10-noon) dance started this morning and we went. It had been almost a year since we had been dancing. Hubby has a bit of a limp left from his stroke and I wondered if he would be able. Glad to report, no problem. The new location has a great sound system and plenty of space. We like the DJ; both his personality and his music. The floor is tile, though, so not as good for dancing as the Magnolia Building or Strawberry Square that have wooden floors. I changed into dancing shoes and it was okay. The DJ told us he has a contract for 3 months and he needs to build up attendance in order to continue. This morning there were only 6 of us, while we are used to 120-180 people at the Magnolia Building, so this dance has a publicity challenge. The location is a little out of the way which may also be a challenge. We hope it will make it. I only got about 3500 steps at the dance, but it was enjoyable and a bit of exercise. Everyone wore masks. All seats were 6 feet apart. Of the 6 we were the only fully vaccinated people; one couple from Michigan had had the virus and recovered. The DJ says he won't get it because he is type O blood, but I'm not sure that is a guarantee. No food or drinks provided or available, but you could bring your own and we did bring water. We will go again. We have 2 friends who promised to come next week. We will keep on dancing!
Maybe next week I'll take a picture of the facility. Hope you are dancing or doing something for fun!!
