It's quite possible that I will be unpacking for the next year, LOL, maybe longer....
Saturday was another busy day. Cool and rainy in the morning. Lots of unpacking and putting, and of course, chores and preparing meals. I also finally got my sausage weighed and vacu-sealed. It’s becoming increasingly more evident that I need a nice, frost-free upright freezer, because I’m very quickly filling up the ones in both refrigerators. The next time I buy a large quantity of meat, I’ll be totally out of space. I also have a line on getting either ¼ or ½ of a steer for an awesome per pound price, and of course, that will require lots more freezer space. In our current economic climate, I think we all would be wise to stock up.
In the late afternoon the sun made an appearance and temperature became very pleasant. We decided to go check out the Goodwill and the Restore for what seems like my never-ending quest for furniture. The Goodwill had f-all to offer in the way of furniture - tired looking old fake-leather couch, a cheap dining set - but they did have a very nice living room chair that was a bit too formal for my liking. It would look nice, but I need something more over-stuffed and comfy. Restore, however, seems to be much like the one in Sanford - More furniture and most items in much better shape. To my delight, I found a love seat that would do quite nicely in the living room! The color isn't what I'd prefer, but I can fix that with a nice slipcover. The best part is that it's well made and delivered for under $130! SCORE!
Sunday was really nice! It was cool and pleasant, and I just decided to do as much relaxing as possible. Because I can! I spent most of the day watching movies, researching future purchases (tiller, lawn tractor), catching up with friends and just enjoying my new home. I took a few photos when I walked the back yard.
Yesterday, Restore delivered my loveseat – It’s so nice to have something other than a folding chair to sit on! Once I find a nice, comfy chair, the living room will be a lovely place to sit and watch a movie, read a book or visit with friends.
So what’s in store for today? The never-ending quest for an electrician, perhaps a trip to Lowes and/or the grocery store, and the usual chores and such. It’s a beautiful morning – Sunny and cool, with the promise of warming to the low 70’s. I best get at it!
