Discouraged? Disappointed?

Monday, February 22, 2021

Dealing with discouragement and disappointment is never easy.

I am discouraged about:
Gaining weight
Living with pain
Slow healing and recovery
Fatigue
Frustration
Fear
Dealing with the feeling of being discouraged.....

As I continue to recover from my back injury, I’ve come to realize that as I go thru my physical healing I also need to do some mental healing. That is what prompted writing this blog.

Since I used to exercise 2 hours a day, I miss doing that and how great I always felt. I read the following and it got me to thinking about it.

“If you’re all the sudden injured and can’t work out every day, you’re experiencing a major dip in endorphins, says Barbara Walker, Ph.D. a psychologist at the Center for Human Performance. According to Walker, with your brain producing less of these feel-good chemicals, the negative emotions surrounding your injury become harder to manage.”

Reading that made me think that I need to be more patient, take a step back, think more clearly, and stay more positive in my thinking. I don’t have any great plan for an overnight fix to all my concerns...just some thoughts to share.

So, if you are feeling discouraged about some area of your life, I hope the following uplifting thoughts bring some positive energy your way.

Best wishes and sending warm thoughts your way as we all make our journey together.
