Week 7: Progress Report - I lost another pound!

Sunday, February 21, 2021

**AND**
**DRUMROLL**

I have now officially hit the low end range of my February weight loss goal. WOOHOO! And there's still a week to go, so hopefully I can UP this month's total loss a bit. So far it's only 4 lbs, which is kindof annoying on the one hand, but on the other hand that's 7 weeks in a row with a weekly loss on the scale, so I'm definitely not going to complain about that! Baby steps.

*HAPPY DANCE*
Just a gazillion more weeks to go. LOL. But I'm going to stay focused on my success this week.

Okay. So recap of this week. Actually, I did great sticking with nutrition goals. I'm starting to think that my basal metabolic rate is a LOT lower than normal. My daily calorie counts are all around 1200, with one day closer to 1400. But check. Did great with sticking to the nutrition plan.

ALSO, I upped my exercise this week. I signed up for a 30 day free trial for Les Mills On Demand - I love bodycombat (used to do these classes when I lived in Albuquerque). And it's got step classes, dance classes, bodypump (weight lifting) classes, yoga classes, meditations, etc. Lots to keep me interested. Yes, I know there's a lot of free stuff online, but for me - I end up wasting a lot of time looking for classes, and not everything online is done very well (consistent, safe techniques, etc.) So, I may go ahead and sign up for a year subscription, which they are running a special for $10 a month. With tons of 30, 45 and 55 min class options. Hard to beat!

So this week I got two treadmill sessions in after work while watching the news on Mon and Tues. Then I did a 30 min body pump class (weights!), which was probably a shock to the system, because I was sore on Thursday (and skipped the treadmill, got home late, yadda yadda insert lots of excuses here), and then SUPER sore on Friday (also didn't do anything). Saturday I did an intro to bodycombat class. It was fun, although not very intense. But after Wednesday's pump class - I thought I'd better slow things down a bit and gradually get back into these classes so I can avoid being crazy sore at the start here. So this week's goal was to increase exercise. CHECK.

Let's see what else happened this week... I also accomplished all of my reading assignments this week by Saturday, leaving today (Sunday) totally open and free - whee! I'm half way through my real estate coursework review. Likely need another two weeks, then I'll schedule my final course exam, and then I can think about scheduling my state license exam. Yippie!

I signed up for a webinar on property investment this week (Thursday), which turned out to be 90 mins - geesh. One of the excuses why I didn't exercise on Thursday after work. It had a lot of good information in it - and it was free - which was even better. My ultimate plan is to buy an investment property in the fall. So this gave me a lot of ideas on what I need to learn between now and then in order to properly evaluate investment properties.

Work is going fine. The leadership program has been interesting so far. This is the 4th week, so half way through it. I'm not quite sure what the end game of the program really is as far as my career with my company - but I'm still excited to have been invited to participate and learn more!

Oh and my BIRTHDAY is coming up in a couple weeks. I'm going to be 48, I think. Let me double check. Yes. 48. lol. Ever since I was in my mid-20's, I've had a hard time remembering my age. Weird, right? Now that I've got both my vaccines, and my parents have each gotten their first shots - and are scheduled for their second shots (hoping they don't get cancelled), we'll all be totally ok to hang out together that weekend.

And for today, I think I'll take on another small, manageable organization project in my closet (for entertainment and/or extra sparkpoints - check out my Jeans blog from yesterday - lol).

Time to go plan out my upcoming week. I'm surprised how jotting a little exercise appointment in my weekly planner helps me stick with it. I've found the more specific the better. So instead of just writing "exercise" in this little hour slot on the planner, if I write "watch news while walking on treadmill", or "lesmills bodypump #90 class" - it's a lot more likely to get done!

Hope that you have a great week ahead of you. Thanks for reading! SparkPeople Support rocks!
