TSH -- 0.13

Yesterday I got some really welcome news. IN the past two weeks I"ve gained 13 ;lbs!! I've been ravenous. Finally I called my doctor about it because I was wondering if one of the blood pressure meds i'm on might be causing this rapid "expansion"-- No. He said the meds were ok. But when he looked over my last labs he found that my TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) was very low. This can cause not only the weight gain but fatigue, sky rocketing BP and elevated heart rates. ALL of which I've been struggling with for weeks. I'm happy beyond words. THis means that my out of control appetite can be curbed by a pill. Who doesn't dream of that??
I have had thyroid disease for years and have been on the same dose of meds. It's something i never think about. I take the pill and that's it. But i guess now my older body needs more of a boost. At any rate, it will be lovely not to have seconds and thirds at meals. This is a great motivation to motivate me to re-start things in terms of my weight loss/health journeys. I was feeling defeated because i've just been simply ravenous. Similar to the response I have to steroids. This hunger is so great that self control is not even an option. So thank the Lord, hopefully soon i can get a new dose of meds and go on my merry way--back on route to a healthy, thinner me.
