Yesterday I Redid My Vision Board

Sunday, February 14, 2021

A year or so ago I made a vision board. It focused on healthy eating, exercise, travel and the people I love. At first I looked at it regularly and thought about it; but once we redecorated the front bedroom, it ended up leaning up against a bookcase, behind a chair.

Redoing it wasn’t on my to do list yesterday, but once I had completed all the things I wanted to do and was left with the things I should do, I decided to do the vision board.

It’s very different now. There is still one travel picture (Italy’s Cinque Terre), but it’s been joined by quotes and stories about people who have struggled and succeeded in their lives. There’s also a picture of someone playing the piano... something I’ve promised to get back at, and even to begin to teach Aria. I’ve hung it on the bedroom door so I will see it every time I go into the room.

It’s never too late to turn things around. At 77, I’m still learning who I am and what’s important.

Vision boards are wonderful tools. I have a large artist sketchpad with a beautiful cover, and I call it my vision book. I add to it regularly, even use it for countdowns to goals. Lots of quotes and pictures, The first section are pictures that capture my reason for doing this. I add anything that inspires me. It's motivating to spend time in it.

I've never done a vision board. I think it would just be one more messy project that I'd never finish. I do meditation and visualization every morning so I pretend it's the same thing. I do think it's important and I don't go to sleep until I learned something...but I still am really struggling with technology devices!

We can’t be sure of many things, but we can be sure about continuing to learn and learn.

Hopefully, I will NEVER stop learning and now that we are so confined to our home, I do have the time to read and try new things. I love to craft with the girls and have taught Elizabeth how to sew. Nola is a bit too young for machine sewing right now. Both girls love to cook and bake, so when they stay over-night, we always have a plan for what to make for supper.

I hope you had a great Valentine's Day and that Aria was a part of it. emoticon

Love that you redid your vision board Gail! Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of goals and dreams and plans. And realize we are very worth all of it!
Best wishes on getting back to the piano! Enjoy it!
    Hugs!

I took piano lessons as a kid and sometimes I too think it would be nice to go back to it. Just to play like Fur Elise and some Bartok, Moonlight Sonata, all that good stuff.
