Don't Be A Mrs. Twit! Courtesy of Children's Author, Roald Dahl

Some of you know that while our community library is closed due to Covid-19 restrictions, I've been picking up books from some of the free little libraries that people create in their front yards.
I've also picked up a few books for Aria at these libraries, and yesterday I found "The TWITS" by Roald Dahl. It's a series of short (2-4 pages) stories about Mr. & Mrs. Twit. Mr. Twit has a long, unkempt beard which holds scraps of his recent meals.
About Mrs. Twit, Dahl says, "Have you ever seen a woman with an uglier face than that? I doubt it. But the funny thing is that Mrs. Twit wasn't born ugly. She had quite a nice face when she was young. The ugliness had grown upon her year by year as she got older. Why would that happen? I'll tell you why. If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier until it gets so ugly you can hardly bear to look at it." But...
"A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely".
So remember, Spark Friends, DON'T BE A MRS. TWIT!
