What Am I Doing Right

We are just over a month in to BLC 45 and this week I am reflecting on what I am doing right this round. To be honest some days it feels like nothing but then I need to remind myself weight loss is a marathon not a sprint!

At the beginning of this round I quit smoking. New Year's resolution, they usually don't stick but this is something that I really need to do! And I knew that trying to lose weight in addition to quitting smoking would be tough. So I am focusing on what is most important (the quitting) and working on habits that help with both:

Trying to go for healthy smokes when I am hungry
Exercise which is great for cigarette craves and losing weight!
Taking time to be still. Sometimes the best thing for a crave is to just weight. Being still helps keep me in my right mindset for the challenge as well.
Tracking all of my food

I think the biggest thing that I am doing is being a little easy on myself. There will be weeks that I might gain. The goal is to keep the scale moving in the right direction long term!

    Jenny, I am so proud of you. You are posting often, checking in with us. You are being accountable for not smoking. You are taking care of your daughter and being an example for her. You are showing up at work everyday and you are making a life with your husband and daughter And most important right now, you are still not smoking. Being easy on yourself is a necessary right now. Keep learning. You are right this is a marathon. You have to train for a marathon. You just can't get up and run one. So right now, you are in training. You are figuring out where you have been and where you want to go and how to get there. I am excited about your future. Go Jenny, go!
