My response to the Question “Do you enjoy exercise?”

The question actually was “How do you feel about exercise?”
I used to hate exercise with a passion. That was when I weighed 250 lbs (My highest, many moons ago). I had to have both my knees replaced and thought I could never exercise again. It took me a number of years to get to where I am now, weighing at most 150 pounds and exercising every day. When I look at pictures of myself at my highest, I can’t believe that I ever allowed myself to get there.
I am grateful for SparkPeople getting me to where I am today. Yes I have learned to enjoy my exercise. Today for the first time on my elliptical I enjoyed using my exercise to take care of myself and was grateful for the progress I have made.
My other main form of exercise is walking, which I started when the pandemic hit with my husband early in the morning during the summer. Doing this with him has strengthened our marriage and has had many benefits for me. I no longer get winded with just a short walk. I can walk up to an hour, but I benefit from just 30 minutes. It is no longer a chore, but a joy.
