The Struggle of Winter

I live in North Central Florida. The sound of the word Florida gives the impression of never ending summer. That's the state moto anyways, isn't it? Maybe not. I'm not really sure. However, not where I live.
Ever since the cooler weather has rolled in (back in October or so time frame) it has been hard to lose weight. I was really successful last summer, losing over 40lbs, but now I'm practically at a stand still.
I am coming to the conclusion that this is the worse time of year to try to lose weight. Maybe that is why so many people fail at the new year's resolution. They quickly feel defeated and give up. Two reasons why this is a terrible time to start a weight loss goal.
1. It is COLD- it's cold y'all. Maybe not as cold here as it is in other places. You don't want to go outside. My body anyways is more inclined to move less to conserve energy. Less sunlight and I feel lethargic. Basically I have so much less motivation to keep moving throughout the day. Either to stay warm, or to just rest. Maybe it's my European roots telling me I can't move and lose that weight because I'm going to freeze to death.
Side note: No one told me that when you take off weight that you are "accustomed" to that you are more sensitive to the cold. Where was that in the fine print? I'm so embarrassed that I bundle up in "freezing" 65 degree weather! I was born and raised in Connecticut for heaven sake!
2. The shorter days- I remember in the summer I was up and moving late into the evening. Well past 9 o'clock. It wasn't even completely dark. Now I am done before 6... earlier if it is an overcast day. Did I also mention it is cold.
It is also cold and dark in the mornings. I use to go outside every morning. Now that ain't happening. I'm going to freeze to death if I do. All right I am being quite dramatic.
Anyways, the whole point of this post is to get around to the fact that I just can't wait for the warmer weather. I'll keep trudging along. Doing the little bit that I can but as soon as it get warmer out
Also don't give up on your weight loss if you just started. This will pass. Don't get discouraged. Just keep doing the best you can. You will be that much more ahead when spring or summer rolls around.
