Day 18: Beautiful Views

Went for a walk today up to the top of the hill behind my house. Lovely views from there. It made me think that committing to 10 minutes of exercise a day has given me opportunities I wouldn't have given to myself last year. There is freedom in knowing that any exercise is good exercise. I'm being more gentle with myself, listening to my body, trying to eat mindfully and nutritiously, and just generally being less of a militant about what is "allowed" and what is not on this new journey to fitness. So I want to talk a walk? Fine! So I want to lift weights? Fine! I like the added opportunities for new experiences and new vistas.

I can tell that I'm getting stronger and that my mood has improved overall in the last 2.5 weeks. Yesterday, I was able to complete a full body weight routine in about 75 minutes, and today, I'm not sore, which means I lifted appropriately and listened to my joints and muscles. I'll try doing that again tomorrow.

    You are doing great! Ten minutes of exercise helps me too. It is so important to listen to your body and have flexibility in what you do. You are on the right track!
