I did the 8-glass water challenge last year and was surprised that I actually got that in. That was nice to know. Of course, some of that was coffee, tea or sparkling water. Do these count?
Today I read an article on water which was great. I knew soda was out - too much sugar - which was no hardship to eliminate. But what about the other waters? I have a soda stream and use it for a change. Are there draw backs? What is the difference between sparkling water, mineral water, seltzer, and club soda? Read on!

My take always are
1) drink sparkling water with food to avoid acidic damage to your teeth,
2) avoid adding sugar or artificial sweeteners that can trigger cravings, and
3) drink water (in any form) to stay hydrated.
I can do this. Yeah!

That's one area which has never been a struggle for me. I grew up with IBS and Interstitial Cystitis, so my mother had me drinking loads of water since early childhood. Sounds like you have a good plan for water intake.

I am not a huge fan of water but I make sure I drink a lot each day. I have arthritis and am told that it really helps that, along with so many other bodily functions.

I love water! WW got me into this habit years ago. I get between 64 - 72 oz. per day and that is in addition to any coffee or tea that I drink. I never drink juice. and I rarely drink a diet soda, sparkling water, or Club Soda. The Club Soda has a bit of sugar whereas the Tonic has a bit of salt in it.

Thanks for the blog. I think there might be many who need encouragement to drink more clean, clear, refreshing water.

Herbal tea should count, just nothing that's caffeinated.

Interesting article. Last summer I bought a new water bottle, 32 ounces so fill it twice a day. It has hourly markings. No guesswork.

Water is my beverage of choice after my morning coffee and OJ.

Many years ago I decided that I would never drink my calories. I prefer to chew and crunch them.
Now if I can just manage to chew and crunch fewer of them!

I was always told--tea and coffee do not count. So I make sure I get my quota of water in. emoticon Also teas and coffees---are diuretics, which flush water from the system. (I drink my 2 cups in the morning, but don't count it in).

I only drink water but I can taste the difference. If it has minerals added to it, im lucky to drink half a bottle but without it, I can drink 10 glasses without problem. So weird

We bought a whole house water filtration system with reverse osmosis for our kitchen tap...our water consumption increased overnight! We both typically drink 5 22oz containers in a day (since we are both over 200 that actually falls pretty inline).

When you do a water challenge, its only water. You can't count tea or coffee.
