My Health and My Hair...

I found and started using "The Ordinary" Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density on the 1st of January 2021.

Today is the 6th, and I can't see any difference in the density yet, except my new growth is about 1 to 4 inches long in different places. I started noticing my hair getting thinner about 6 or 8 months ago. I had lost about 50% of my long hair before it was noticeably thinner.

I think the cause was my diet (or stress from COVID). Not eating enough protein and or calories.

The good thing is that I lost about 20 pounds in 2020. I have been doing Keto (No Sugar) and Intermittent Fasting (16/8 to OMAD) for over a year from 10/26/19 to NOW.

But, I did bring down my A1C from 8.5 to 5.0 which improved my
Liver enzymes
Kidney function
and Thyroid

I have learned that I can maintain my weight by doing Keto and IF. My highest weight was 208 in Dec. of 2018 and is now fluctuating between 159 and 162.

Now I would like to get down to 145 and I don't mind if it takes another full year to reach it because this is my lifestyle now and for the rest of my life. I'm thinking that 145 pounds probably is a good weight for my age and height of 5' 5".

But, ultimately my only goal was to get and Stay Healthy. I started on Sat., Oct. 26, 2019, by cutting sugar out of my life and that, in turn, made me lose weight. I have always weighed every morning and taken my blood pressure and blood sugar readings. This morning I weighed 162 lbs., my BP was 112/66 plus 56, and my BS was 104.

I think Dr. Berg's Trace Minerals is the reason I'm having new hair growth.

    Bobbie You have done a fantastic job of getting your AiC down. I am glad you found something to re grow your hair. Proper diet plays such a big part in that. I was on a very restrictive diet when my hair started to thin and fall out. I increased my proteins & calories daily 1200-1800 calories and also started taking a supplement called BIOTIN vitamin B7 by nutricost. ( One a day is 10,000mcg) my hair loss was noticeably less after 30 days and it came back. .

    Bobbie, what a great job with your A1C!

    I will have to check out the serum you mentioned. I have thyroid issues and take levo daily. I had a head full of hair when I had my son and have slowly lost it in 9 years. I love my hair long and can't stand when it gets thin. I have noticed a big difference since I started taking collagen daily.

    Good for you! Reasonable goals are achievable goals. Lifestyle and consistency will get you there. There is no deadline, just progress. Did you end up trying the collagen supplement? I bought the marine, rather than the bovine. Scoop one was today. I’ll let you know if I notice anything improving.
