I love the cold on my face

I know when I go for a walk and it is very chilly that motorists may look at me like I am crazy walking. There is something about the cold air on my face that I love.
I remember playing outside as a kid and laying in the snow and looking up at the sky.. One day I fell asleep looking at the clouds. My poor mother. She saw me on the sledding hill laying there and thought I was hurt. So she trudged out side and ran to me and i awoke to her screaming my name. I felt bad to have scared her.
Growing up in New England we went out and played. We skated on the swamp across the street from our home. We went sledding on huge hills on either side of our home. Shoveling our small driveway, although it wasn't so small when we had to shovel it.
I run a small in home day care and today I was watching a show with the kids and trying to get some paperwork done. One little girl looked out the window and she marveled at the snow squall outside. It looked like a snow globe out my window. I looked at the kids and asked if they were ready to go out and the girls squealed with joy. Really Jeanne, we can go out! Yes my friends like we do everyday.
Going outside means we need protection. gloves, snowpants, boots, coats and hats. I get them all ready and then I get myself ready. Yes, I have snow pants too. The kids run and slide and swing and laugh! I love the kids and I love my job.
