Feeling better

Sunday, January 03, 2021

I am feeling better already. Extra hydration, 100% cranberry juice, and sticking to low glycemic food seems to have done the trick. However, the Cooper-dog and I slept in this morning and didn’t go on the morning walk with dad and Angel, even though I feel better. Neither the Cooper-dog nor I were motivated to get up and go walk in the cold. The blankets were snuggly warm, and we curled up together so we were extra snuggly! I will go out at midday to walk the dogs. I DID however, spend 30 minutes on the elliptical. My legs are feeling it. Especially my quads. Does anyone else feel like their legs are limp noodles after using the elliptical? I can walk for hours and hours with no noticeable wobbly legs, but even 10 minutes on the elliptical makes me wobble! I know the two forms of exercise use different muscle groups, but... jello! lol. I have three doctors appointments this week. Two out of town, and one in town. Monday I am seeing a new orthopedic doctor about my shoulder. I was not impressed with the local doctor, who said “suck it up, buttercup!” That I am getting old and things will hurt so get used to it... I am 46years old. I don’t think that is “old”! I don’t think I should settle for limited range of motion (and yes, I did 2-3 months of Physical Therapy), and pain. The new doctor may send me back to physical therapy, or... I don’t know. Hopefully he will be more helpful though! I am cautiously optimistic. Wherever you are in the world I hope you have a marvelous day!

46 is not old . As for that doctor I got hit by a truck I can expect some residual pain but my doctor would never say that to me,I like both Katie and Go GAL GROW's comments. He is a quack to say that too you . I will keeping my fingers crossed you get a much nicer doctor tomorrow.

Good to hear you are feeling better today. Sometimes puppy snuggles are exactly what you and Cooper-dog need! I hope all goes smoothly with the doctor appointments.

I do horrible on the elliptical-- I can never get a good rhythm going, so I don't do it all that often when I'm at the gym (and I gave up my gym membership because of COVID and everything being closed). I hope the doctor is helpful. I am having shoulder/back pain every few months because of using the mouse all day at work and I finally got into PT a few weeks ago and got exercises that I am trying to do regularly, though I haven't recently.

Think that doctor of yours needs to reassess his advice. Also the elliptical doesn't do that to my legs, cause I can never get any further than 5 minutes on it. LOL!

Hope all your appointments go well this week. It will make the week go by quickly.

When I have been seated to long and go to get up - boy my knees are tight, legs hurt. But, I can go out and walk and walk and not have the pain emoticon

Glad you are feeling better. I have only used an elliptical once, so I don't know, but using different muscle groups can cause surprising effects at times. emoticon

That is Ungodly and mean spirited counsel from the doctor. (doctor--?) really? ... At 46, the body is not usually showing signs of wear and tear or breaking down. So suck it up? Let's see how he does when he gets some aches and pains. And he will! .. As for the elliptical---I feel it for sure. it has resistance and really works those quads--so it is not unusual to feel a little wobbly. I am glad you are feeling better---and I hope things continue to improve!

I can't believe what that doc said to you. BTW, my sugar battle is added sugar elimination - deserts, etc. I'm not going to go as extreme as what's in food already other than to carefully watch that it's not too much.
