I was going to write a blog at the end of the year or yesterday but I didn't feel like I had anything profound to say to wrap up a challenging year or to begin a new year. I'm still working on recovering from my husband leaving so I got nothin to inspire anyone else.
On New Year's eve, I shook off my misery by fixing my hair, getting dressed up, full makeup, and pulled up a Cuban dance party mix on youtube. I danced like nobody was watching for 20 minutes. That... felt... wonderful!
Then I put on sweats, had a frozen margarita pizza while watching the 1960s Oceans 11. I love old movies.
I rang in the new year with blueberries in my prosecco, tears, and texted with my kids who gave me smiles.
This morning I read a post from Ales and Asanas in Fort Lauderdale. I had attended their Sunday morning beer yoga when I visited there and have been following them on social media ever since.
Her post said something like... so we need another social account to talk about leaving 2020 behind and new year, new you? And something about quit buying into marketing campaigns about what to buy in "these challenging times", 2020 was weird, 2021 will be too so get on the yoga mat and shake out are crazies
That works for me.
I'm prepared for 2021 to be weird and I will continue to work at taking care of myself, mentally and physically, for when it gets a little less weird.
I'm going to write in the blank pages of this year. Some will be good, some will be bad. I mean, any good story has its ups and downs am I right?
Today's plan... take down a few Christmas decorations while doing some Spark cardio moves, get some homework done, and then hit the mat and shake off the crazies.
Party on!
