2021...71 books and other stuff

Friday, January 01, 2021

Happy new year friends!

2020 was a crazy ride and I exceeded my reading goal by 30 books emoticon I trust 2021 will be brighter emoticon This year my goal will be to read 71 books. A very lofty goal. emoticon emoticon I will continue to update the blog with my list as I go. ;). If you have any recommendations I’d appreciate;)

We have rain this 1st day of 2021. I’ll take it;). emoticon Such a blessing to welcome another year in healthy and happy. I am blessed Though 2020 wasn’t my favorite year, it definitely reminded me what is truly important. God, family, friends, love. Without these ( that I take for granted at times). 2020 would have been an even rougher ride. God is great...all the time. I read in the Bible , listened to the Bible, and had many talks with my youngest son. He is well versed and is teaching me a lot emoticon I truly fell more in love with my husband this year! He is my dreamguy and best friend. My sons and I have grown closer emoticon Both are fine young men. Never hesitating to express their love for us . Makes my heart happy ! True friends have been there...may be virtually..but still there;). My spark friends are always the absolute best! All the time! I appreciate the love, support, and motivation given daily emoticon emoticon 2020 still had many blessings. Thank you God

As for other goals this year....hmmmmm. Stay active, happy and healthy.
Strength is important. I help my hubby move a lot of heavy trees in our bonsai garden. Trust me...they are not all tiny ;). emoticon I would love to be able to do one pull up. Then 3.. emoticon So I will be working on those ;).
My weight fluctuates....125-135 emoticon But I’m kinda okay with that. It’s life. Holiday food and drinks are yummy. Sure I want to be at the lower end of this fluctuation, but it’s not the end of the world if I am not emoticon And right now...I am not ;)
This year I will turn 55. Happy, healthier, active, and stronger are my goals . Hey...looking 10 years younger would be great too emoticon Know of any magic skincare? LOL

When my children were growing up, I read them a lot of books and here are some titles and I also read any book they were assigned in Middle/High School so I kept them on track to get the reading done. When my oldest son was in Middle School he told me on Sunday evening he had to have a book so I had to drive at 8:30pm to the store that closed at 9PM to get the book so he had 3 chapters read by the next morning. Thus I put a stop to that stuff right then and kept in contact with the teachers.)

Look Homeward, Angel: A Story of the Buried Life by Thomas Wolfe
The Good Earth by Pearl Buck (Olan is my favorite character in all of literature)
    All of Kurt Vonnegut books
As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner
    Books by James Michener

I love to read as well and have no idea how many books I have read this year but I always have at least 1 going at all times. Jodi Picoult and Nicolas Sparks are 2 of my favorite authors, just finished reading 1 by each of them last week and the other one that I just finished is "take it back" It was awesome.
Your 2020 had several things that came out ahead and I love that you found the silver lining as well. I feel the same way as we have really reconnected with our daughters this year and it is awesome to have adult kids that love to come home and spend time with us.
Have a blessed new year. I am wishing you much happiness and joy as well as continued great health!
    All the best!
