My Spark Anniversary
Sunday, December 27, 2020
Tomorrow is the 8th anniversary of my joining SparkPeople. As I look back on the ups and downs of being in this group I have many moments of gratitude and a few disappointments.
On December 28, 2012 it was seeing the Christmas pictures that made me search for a new diet for New Years. I think I actually chose SparkPeople because it was free so there was no reason to wait until a New Year’s resolution!
The first person who sent me a message is still a good friend and we have visited each other many times although I’m in Indiana and she is in Arkansas.
My very best Spark friend I met after posting a vacation blog and finding out we live just a few miles from each other. We have been the best of friends ever since. She is my traveling buddy, my coffee buddy and my rock!
My weight has gone from 209 down but after this past year is back to 175 so here I am at the year’s end setting new goals, joining new teams and meeting new friends.
I’ve learned a lot about myself over the years, how my body works best and the best lifestyle for me.
Exercise is still my downfall but as I see my 80th Birthday coming this year and still being medication free, I know that SparkPeople is the way to good health. It isn’t easy but staying through the tough times is so worth it!
I’ve learned no matter how much a program costs, it’s still the choices we make, the miles we walk (or run) and the support we get that matters most.
I’m wishing you and yours a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year 2021!
