The Christmas Exchange
It's often we hear
Around this time of year
How presents are exchanged
Life becomes rearranged
It's all about the presents
But we forget the essence
The reason we celebrate
Every year on this date
When glory came down
To a quaint little town
A little baby was born
On that Christmas morn
His name was Jesus
He came to save us
His love sets us free
For eternity
This is why He came
It's all in His name
The greatest exchange
Do you think it strange?
He left His throne
His heavenly home
To come to earth
Humbled in birth
He left His glory
Oh what a story!
The baby in the stall
Is the Savior of all!
He became a man
So he could understand
Our sufferings
What an offering!
His power laid down
Exchanged for a thorny crown
The great I am
Became a lamb
He gave up everything
So he could bring
Salvation to man
That was His plan
No present on earth
Can ever be worth
The price of His love
A gift from above
He is Emmanuel
Drink from His well
He is Jesus our King
Oh how the angels sing!
Come and worship Him
He'll take away your sins
The little baby boy
Will fill your heart with joy
Hallelujah and Amen!
