November 29, 2020 COMMIT TO WORSHIP

Many of us have had beliefs so strong that that we did all we could to make things work out. We may have had setbacks. We may have had issues. We may have had to change our course a few times. But we didn’t give up. The feeling of never giving up and staying committed to what we believe is important and will bring many rewards.

When we commit to our belief in God and commit to worship Him in spirit and truth, we will feel His connection with us and He will guide us to do what is right. Worship is to bring us closer to God. When we continue to worship Him in all situations, He will see us through the good times and the bad.

We can worship in many ways. We can worship through song, through words, and through our thoughts. We can worship at home, at church, or anywhere we are. Worship reminds us of how great God is. Worship strengthens us and reminds us of who we are and where we came from. How and where we worship is not as important as who we worship. When we worship God, we are living in obedience to Him.

John 4:23-24 “But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (NLT)

1. Write how you commit to worship.
2. List what God says about how to worship Him.
3. Remember worship is about you and your relationship with God.
4. Spend time with God daily and commit to worship Him in all you do.

Dear Lord, we want to worship You in spirit and in truth. When we worship You this way we can be closer to You. We want to feel Your Holy Spirit move us to do what You want us to do. We want to worship You in the good times and bad knowing You are in control. Help us be true worshippers and be committed to worshipping only You. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Joshua 24:15 “But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” (NLT)

1 Samuel 15:22 "But Samuel replied, ‘What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.’" (NLT)

Romans 12:1 “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” (NLT)

Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (NLT)

Psalm 8:1 “O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.” (NLT)

Psalm 95:6-7 “Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care.” (NLT)
