November 28, 2020 COMMITTED TO LOVE
We all want to be loved. We want to feel love from our spouse, our children and others. The best way to be loved is to show love. Whatever we sow, we will reap. When we commit to show love to others, we will receive it back in many ways. Giving of our time, our talents and our treasures is how we can show love and let others know we care. When we show selfless acts of kindness, we will helping others and showing our love to them. Everyone needs love.
Jesus showed love to us and others. Jesus gave up His life for us because of His love for us. We need to remember that and follow His example. If we are to live like Jesus, we need to love like Jesus. That means giving up our lives for others as well. We don’t have to die to do this. We can give up our time, our money and our talents so we can help others. We should commit to love others as Jesus loves us.
1 John 4:7-8 “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” (NLT)
1. Write what it means to give up your life for others.
2. List what ways Jesus gave up His life for you.
3. Remember you are to love others as Jesus loves you.
4. Ask God what to give up in your life so you can commit to loving others.
Dear Lord, the only way to know real love is to know You. We can follow the example of Jesus to better understand how to show love to others. Help us seek opportunities today to show love to someone who You put in our paths. Remind us to put our agenda aside and seek ways to show love by putting the needs of others first. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
