The value we place on our earthly lives determines our eternal treasure.

Wednesday, November 25, 2020

“The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge” (Proverbs 18:15).

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8).

Those who have clean, pure thoughts and emotions shall have God in their midst. We live in an age where people have become so casual about proper etiquette. God, who is creator and ruler of the universe, will not participate in coarse jesting, nor sit and watch the mindless reality programs produced today. Mankind’s view of sin has changed, but God’s has not. Gradually, our moral standards turn into a pile of worthlessness. “For where your treasure is, there your heart [thoughts and emotions] will be also” (Matthew 6:21).

The litmus test for determining our treasures will follow our thoughts and emotional ties. Do we seek God only when we want or need something? Do we draw near to God because He is our heart’s desire?

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God” (Revelation 2:7).

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death” (Revelation 2:11).

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it” (Revelation 2:17).

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 2:29).
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 3:6).
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 3:13).
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 3:22).

To be, or not to be... prudent and wise. The choice is ours. The value we place on our earthly lives determines our eternal treasure. God gave ALL He had at Calvary to redeem you and me. We must not be foolish.

Pray for one another. Our Father in heaven is listening.
