Only 24 hours in a day....

About a week ago a lovely blog of mine just disappeared.
Well I had things to do and had to move forward. So many appointments for hubby. All is well and the cement is perfecting in it's place in his vertebrae. Scans are scheduled for right after Thanksgiving and the MRI right after Christmas. Needless to say I am not bored. My youngest's GF tested positive for COVID. So I have been dropping off stuff in their garage. He's been feeling very tired and cannot smell, but his test came back negative. Really? GF just moved here from Michigan in August and has no network of family and friends here, other than us. She caught it from work. She's a teacher.
As for The Holidays, we are sticking with household only celebrations. I'm looking at this as a time for experimenting with the meals. What fun! We get to play. No demands, judgements or whining.
Been shopping online... not as fun and only exercise for my fingers. It takes me longer to scan the pages than to scan a store in person. Perhaps I should simplify the gifts too. I shop for Hubby and I, then for Middle son's gift list.
Venture out to the mall last week to resolve some online issues, OMG my stamina has faded greatly since COVID started.

❤️ Grateful -
I did simplify the gifts a bit.
Menu had been planned for two weeks up to Sunday after Thanksgiving.
Ordered Thanksgiving Dinner.

Oh my! Sadly the COVID risk is very real...annnnnnnnnd on the rise. Cannot believe all the people ignoring this. Seeing people traveling, in airports! No thanks. Quiet dinner here at home. Just the newlyweds joining us. Did they trace the girlfriend’s positive back to school? I’m amazed that school continues in classrooms throughout our state. The numbers support the decision, especially when you look at suicide rates for teens at home. Doubled since last year, far higher than COVID cases. As a teacher I understand the risks and expectations for those helping our children learn. Huge! A whole different breed of super heroes...

Christmas, a move between the holidays, and rocketing numbers keep us home, sensible, and parring down. Enormously! First and foremost, the content of our home. After 40 years, tooooooooo much. Especially as millennials don’t do stuff...theirs or ours. Ginormous task, purging, donating, selling...gonna be worth it. This in between time is tough. We’re doing a much smaller Christmas, trying to honestly personalize for each precious one. Plenty of time to ponder on this as I pack. On line shopping here as well. Beauty and brains...a winning combo.
Take care, be well...better days are coming.

OH my. sorry to hear about your DS's girlfriend. As for your son, a false negative can happen if the test is done less than 5 days from exposure. Learned that when my DD tested positive (she lives on her own). Just sayin. Beware.

HUGS and wishing you health and a blessed Thanksgiving.
