It's FRIDAY and we are still here!

I am trying the above--saying, "I WILL"---
Some evenings it does not work, but, lately, it is working more times than not--
Bad habits are so hard to break----I WILL BREAK eating HIGH CALORIC munchies AFTER dinner!-----After all, I never ever drink diet coke anymore---and if I can do that, I WILL --I WILL be strong--
-
Doncha wish eh?
"IF it's going to be, it's up to me!"

This picture was taken inside of Toronto Pearson Airport--no people!

Son #2, the Pilot, was en route to Ottawa to spend time with his daughter, in University there.
His comment was, that he feels Air Travel is quite safe right now--as no-one is flying---
Wear the mask--social distance , and away you go---

Christmas will be a challenge here--- But, Thanksgiving is a challenge already for all in the U.S.--- Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, himself and I spent alone--it wasn't that bad! ==Well, we are still alive -----

Lord love a Duck! Sparkly people are so special!
Don't forget the mask this weekend--and maybe try to remember these Pandemic times will end, sooner than later------I hope!

I relate! Flew to Seattle to help a daughter by tending her children a week ago and the plane had few travelers. I felt safe in their home too!

It will be different this Thanksgiving. A friend and I were going to go to Cracker Barrel to feast, but Gov. Walz has ordered no eating in in restaurants for 4 weeks: November 20 to December 20. By then the restaurant will not be serving the feast we were going to get.

Oh, well. We are here as you say! emoticon emoticon

All the holidays, no matter where you live, is going to be difficult! So we all have to do our best, to join in with family, For Us we will be doing a ZOOM dinner with our family which live 1600+ miles away! Add to dinner, and we have Family Game Day to enjoy our time together!

You are so positive! Yes Thanksgiving and Christmas will be very different this year in the US. I have already sent out gifts to my daughters, father and my grandchildren for Xmass. I know I won't be able to see them and its hard.

If the masks help an (even older than I am) older person, then I will gladly wear one. I have masks for all of the holidays now. I really am enjoying my Thanksgiving mask! I get complements whenever I go out!

Hate the masks. One day soon, Lord willing, this too shall pass, and we will be back to some semblance of normalcy. That is my prayer.

People not flying must be why the tickets sales are so good right now. I am preparing for Thanksgiving but will see what the actual day brings.

Our lives have changed, hopefully only temporarily! When I saw that pix of the airport it made me want to cry! Our COVID numbers have increased down here in NH. Everything is up in the air for Thanksgiving, even though we were scheduled for tests & isolation. I feel blessed that so far we are all healthy. Stay safe & healthy everyone!

Yes it is a different world we live in. They just put new restrictions back in force here in British Columbia Canada - can go to stores but masks are mandatory - but not allowed in anothers home. Does seem a bit strange that I can let my special need daughter go with her worker into a store to look around but she cannot go to respite for 8 days - personally I think she would be safer at the home of my respite worker where she has gone every month for16 years (she is part of their family) than going into stores where there are a random number of people. Another one that I feel seems strange is that we can go to the stores and restaurants but we arent allowed to go to our church which has put into practice social distancing - only allowing 50 people (rather than 250) and all are 6 feet apart. I don't see the reason where one is allowed but another isn't.
Personally I agree with working on getting it under control but why are they not targeting the areas that are causing the problem - close down things like bar or restaurants that have had an outbreak - close them down for at least 14 days or possibly 21 days rather than locking down everything. But that is my take and not the officials making the call

Stay safe, practice social distancing, wear a mask and don't get into groups larger than 10 people and we should be ok - then next year we can be back together

I really like the advice that I have heard which is to stay home and isolate during the holidays so that we are all here for the holidays next year. If we are smart now and unselfish in our choices we can get through this. I have always heard that my freedom to choose stops where your freedom starts. Not only do we protect ourselves when we stay safe and smart, but we protect others as well. If one must travel quarantine in advance.

One of my granddaughters is away at college and has made the tough decision to stay at school for the holidays. This will be her first Christmas with no family. I am so proud of her decision but I don't think that she realizes just how hard that will actually be. Our family has always had large family gatherings but obviously not this year.

I hope we all stay safe and well. emoticon

Some of the comments are right on. The long one by the lady that said she was weird was a very inspiring one. Doesn’t make her weird makes her an inspiration for those who aren’t looking at the POSITIVE. Change is hard at the best of times. I think about how lucky my family has been. My youngest DD has a wool shop she’s had to close the actual store from full hours but the shipping on the website etc has kept her super busy. The rest of us have not had any real issues. Inside social distance out for necessities only. I drive a school bus so I’m still working.

Good for you on the soda! Haven’t had soda since last year and don’t miss it. I think diet soda tastes horrible! It will just be my husband and I for the holidays along with our two wild yorkies!:) My mom and nephew usually come but at 6 hours away is too risky! Too risky to stop for the bathroom etc. Things that people need to consider. We will all be fine! Just need to sit tight and be patient! 🤗

Well said. .... I wish is out and yes! I will is in!

Thanksgiving at my house in these last 25 years or so has not been just family. My family is all in different states - Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, Florida, California, Tennessee. There are only 4 here in this area now. So at Thanksgiving I invite any people I know that have no place to go for Thanksgiving. These last years have not been very many. Sometimes it is not on the date but that weekend.

This year we are living in a very small house and I don’t have a good oven. My daughter is cooking the Turkey and doing dessert. I am making the vegetables, potato’s, and salad. We are eating at her home so no extra people this year!!

Better to have a solitary holiday with our ONE loved one and be able to have many many more with loved ones next year!

I think our Thanksgiving with be our 2 sons, one DUIL, his mother
and sister and us. Keeping our options open until we know for sure.
So many places are empty but we need to stay safe.

I am so thankful my late husband left me in good shape to afford my house and necessities. Praise my awesome God for giving me strength and comfort to carry on.
It is so sad to see places empty that once were bustling with life. It’s like part of our world died.
But... we are strong! We WILL be alright. We WILL get through this.
