A Day in the Life of Two Old(er) People...Nov 6: Sunshine and warmth
Friday, November 06, 2020

I just knew that if I went outside to work in the yard, I'd feel better the other day, and it worked! Sometimes it still comes as a surprise to me that physical activity in the fresh air is good for what ails me!
I raked, picked up leaves, and scratched around in several places where we'll sow some grass seed in the next few days. I still have mulch to spread, too. Got my hair cut, and the other old(er) person who lives here (DH) took some of that FlexSeal stuff that they advertise on TV. Nope...we don't have a boat to fix like they do in the ads, but we have a leaky basement window that sometimes lets water into the basement when it rains hard. So, we'll see if it works on windows as well as it does on boats. Haha.
We had an even nicer day yesterday with a gorgeously warm and sunshiny day! We drove back to Swedesburg where we lived before moving back to this area a couple years ago. I loved that little village. Swedesburg is tiny--less than a 100 residents, but it's friendly and gives you a real sense of home and belonging. Richard grew up about 2 miles from there, so he's always known a lot of the locals. Swedesburg (yes, it was founded by Swedes) actually has a few businesses and a wonderful museum. I have many friends there now, too, and we met one of them at the churchyard for a short, but fun socially distanced visit. Great day to be outside and see a good friend we hadn't seen since way last winter. We only went down (it's a drive of about 75 minutes each way) because another friend had some venison to give us. Swedesburg will be a story for another day!
Stay safe, stay well, and don't forget to mask up!!
