I want to get better at blogging regularly. My goal for the next week is to do a minimum of three blogs.

I am working on figuring out my new normal. My school went to remote learning as of last Monday and I have been working 4am-9PM almost daily. I can't keep it up and I need to fit in some time for me for mental and physical well being.
We were hoping to be closed for only 2 weeks, but the district just announced they are adding a week due to our community numbers and we are out of school the last week of November so that makes it 4 weeks of teaching online. If all goes well we will be back in person November 30. The kids need to be in school.
There are some positives to remote learning -
*I don't have to wear my mask all day long,
*I can wear leggings or jeans (because no-one can see me from the waist down),
*this time the building isn't closed so I don't have to recreate all the materials I forgot to bring home with me. I can just go into school and pick them up. Although it is a little sad without kiddos in it.

Oh, my - such long hours! I do hope you can find yourself a more manageable routine. This pandemic is so difficult for both teachers and parents. I am grateful that I am neither. Retirement has its' benefits.

Oh, Jacque, that is a crazy schedule! Even mine isn't quite that long. My son and his wife are both teachers and I have been hearing all about this. My son's school district hasn't been open at all this year. They are supposed to move to a hybrid, but our numbers have been really high the past two weeks. I think they are going to postpone the opening again. Either way people are going to be upset.

My two grandsons have differing opinions. Their district has been hybrid - they only go in on Thursday and Friday. The older one is in 3rd grade and he really wants to be back in school full time. The younger one is in half-day kindergarten and goes to a YMCA program at the school for the other half of the day. He would love to have the YMCA program all day, but he has no use for kindergarten. He doesn't understand why they are allowed to do things wrong (like spelling phonetically). I think his teachers are going to have a rough go of it!
